Earthquakes can affect living and non-living things. Earthquakes are very dangerous because people can die from thier affects. For example, buildings can collapse on them or they could be pulled into a crack in the ground. Animals can also be injured or killed by not making it out of the house before it falls or crumbles. In 1999 the Kobe earthquake in Japan was so powerful the higway collapsed leaving many people injured or dead as they were driving on the highway.

In addition to buildings and structures being affected, other non-living and living things could be impacted. As the ground is moved, plants, trees and lanscapes can be changed. If an earthquake is dynamic enough anything can be destroyed.
